A typical day

Meal time at the Phoenix ClubThe meetings are run for the Members. We aim not to get stuck in a rut. Most games and activities are run on a group basis with Members participating as they wish.

We aim to encourage Members to exercise in many different ways. Physical exercises are usually of the “music and movement” style however occasionally, indoor ball games provide much hilarity. Stimulating group discussion of topical or controversial subjects occurs during most meetings.

The volunteers work together to provide a two course lunch and refreshments.

Group word games get the thought processes going and encourage a bit of competition. Sometimes the sounds of the bag of Scrabble tiles being shaken, the clatter of Dominoes and the whirr of the Card shuffler can be heard. Occasionally we have an entertainer appear.

At Christmas time cakes are made and decorated with marzipan and icing. Craft projects provide an opportunity to be constructive and make items for bazaars, birthdays and Christmas.
