Trustees & Policies

The Phoenix Club was started in 1979 in a very small way and grew and grew. In 1980 we started to look around for our own premises as this would improve our scope of activities and also the ambience of the club. Having decided to build our own room, thanks to the generosity of many local individuals and Service clubs the dream became a reality and gradually our “room” took shape and was opened by Mr Cliff Michelmore in the spring of 1982. The club has gone from strength to strength, membership has increased and the club now meets on three and a half days a week.

The Trustees of the club are people who have agreed to take on the legal responsibility for its running and the financial reporting.

The Club is a registered charity with the number 278998.

The financial year runs from 1st April to 31st March with the AGM being held during the following month or so.

The Trustees employ a Manager and Assistant to deal with day-to-day matters, promotion of the Club within the community, certain fund raising and development of the club’s services.
